We’ll be attending the American Musicological Society meeting in Indianapolis

Sarah Noble and Sophie Lumley will be in Indianapolis next week for the AMS annual meeting. Ashgate will have a book display, so if you will be there do come along and browse through a selection of our latest Music Studies books, pick up a catalogue, and say Hello to Sarah and Sophie.

The meeting is being organized jointly by the AMS and the Society for Music Theory.

You can follow the AMS/SMT conference on Twitter using the hashtag #amsindy2010

    Hello! Ladies (Sarah and Sophie)

Having you representing Ashgate at the AMS/SMT Conference last week was a highlight both professionally and personally!

I thoroughly enjoyed viewing all the magnificent books and was happy to purchase at least two copies during the conference. I would have bought more, but was concerned with the extra weight for baggage going home. My desire is to continue to search your book list for more books that can support my classes in Music Appreciation, History of Rock and Roll, and American History of Folk Music.

Thank you for being there. I look forward to continuing our chat in SF next year. I will be sure to “pop” over to continue our conversations. You were both delightful and added to the enthusiasm of the conference!

Take care and all my best,

      Hello Chaumonde!
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to our blog so kindly. We really enjoyed meeting you, and your husband, too at the AMS/SMT conference and certainly look forward to your ‘popping’ by next year! We had a manically busy, but great, time with lots of sales, lots of new book proposals and lots of positive comments about Ashgate’s fast-growing music list. If we were delightful (thanks for that!) it was in response to the enthusiasm and friendliness of the conference delegates – it was definitely a two-way street!
Until we meet again, best wishes.
      Sarah & Sophie
