Ashgate at the Urban History Group and Economic History Society conferences, Cambridge

The 2011 Urban History Group annual conference will be held 31 March to 1 April, followed by the annual Economic History Society Conference, Friday 1 – Sunday 3 April.

Both conferences are at Robinson College, University of Cambridge. John Smedley, Emily Yates and Tom Gray will be attending for Ashgate. If you will be there, come along to say Hello!

The Urban History Group meeting broadly explores the pursuit of “pleasure” in the context of the history of towns and cities. The conference organisers are interested in investigating the significance of specifically urban forms of pleasure and leisure for understanding the historical dynamics of social, economic and cultural relationships. More information is available on the UHG home page.

The programme for the Economic History Society conference is wide-ranging. The latest information on the programme is available on the EHS website.
